Aged sixteen, Nicholas is conscripted into in the South African army. It is 1981, the apartheid era. Homophobia, xenophobia and white supremacism are the norm. Nicholas tries to explore his homosexuality during humiliating boot camps, but there is precious little scope for individual expression in this suffocating environment.

Zombi Child by Bertrand Bonello
Forget the clichés of the zombie genre. Bonello goes back to the origins of the living dead, rooted in Haitian folklore and colonialism. The result: an ambitious, conceptual genre film featuring the intriguing parallel stories of a Haitian teenager at a French boarding school today and a zombie slave on a sugar plantation in 1962.

Living the Light – Robby Müller by Claire Pijman
Using personal archival material from Dutch cameraman Robby Müller (1940 - 2018), documentary maker Claire Pijman composed an intimate portrait of the cameraman for whom light was life. With attention to the release of the album Some Music for Robby Müller by SQÜRL (the band of Jim Jarmusch and Carter Logan).
