Revolving around the carousel slide projector, Blackout spotlights how we often forget. Despite Kodak terminating its production in 2004, slide projectors continue to be used by artists – often exploring history from a personal perspective. In the age of swipe and scroll, the slide projector calls for us to remember.

  • Meme Café

The Meme Café is the heart of the thematic programme Rabbit Hole. A place where the audience can immerse themselves in the memeverse. On show are special meme-related works and installations by artists and filmmakers; there are possibilities to contribute to the exhibition by adding your own memes, and several events are being organised in the café.

  • Closing Night: Party 2019

You just blink and – suddenly it’s all over. On Saturday 2 February, round off the 48th IFFR with us at the exclusive screening of the closing film in the Grote Zaal in ‘de Doelen’. After the film, we’ll see out the festival in spectacular style with the Closing Party.
