Last Monday, December 9, we reached the first deadline for the new generation of filmmakers to submit their original ideas for the new talent development process, the Videoland Academy.

Videoland makes more than a million euros available to give new talent the opportunity to make a total of four fiction films of 45 minutes and one documentary. For this first edition (2020-2021), more than 150 applications were received for fiction films with the theme Grounded Sci-Fi and documentary series with the theme True Crime.

A final selection will follow in May, where ultimately four fiction films and one documentary series are further supported, supported and realized financially and substantively. The broadcast of these films is scheduled for 2021 on Videoland and premieres are planned during the Dutch Film Festival and IDFA 2021.
