Tips for ticket sales

With the full IFFR 2020 programme online the puzzling will sure have started. So, we’ve put together some practical tips for preparing for the ticket sale. Tiger Members get to go first, from 20:00 hours on 16 January. Regular ticket sale starts Friday evening (17 January) at 20:00 hours.

Having trouble choosing?

There are a number of ways to navigate our extensive programme. Start by using our four festival sections as a guide: Yellow for Bright Future, blue for Voices, green for Deep Focus and red for Perspectives. Still can’t decide? Try our IFFR Film Finder tool which gets to know your taste and helps you to find your best-matched films.

Be prepared!

  1. Get yourself set up in your personal account before 19:30 hours. Create an account if you don’t have one already – if you have a CJP pass, you can link it to your account here
  2. Between 19:30 and 20:00 hours, it’s time to enter the pre-queue. To do this, go to the homepage and click the link that says ‘Enter the queue’.
  3. Avoid surprises and read the queue guide carefully!
  4. Tip: to make sure things go smoothly, make sure to use only one browser and avoid having multiple tabs open.

Why the queue?

To regulate demand we work with a queuing system during the advance sales. Between 19:30 and 20:00 hours, a ‘pre-queue’ is formed. At 20:00 hours, everyone in the 'pre-queue' at that moment is allocated a random number in the actual queue. So it doesn’t matter whether you were in the pre-queue at 19.31 or 19.59 – at 20:00 hours everyone has the same chance. If you arrive on the site at 20:01 to buy a ticket, you will join the end of the queue. Note: do not refresh the page while you are in the queue. If you do, you will be allocated a new number and you will join the end of the queue.

Join the queue...

Bringing others with you?

Make ordering tickets in groups easier by entering the email address and the Account ID of your fellow film enthusiast in your personal account. Look for ‘share tickets’. You can order tickets for each other retaining eveyone’s Tiger Membership privileges.

Plan your visit

Logged in to your personal account? Start with ‘favouriting’ films by clicking on the heart symbol. You can make a personal schedule from these favourites by clicking on the agenda symbol in your favourites overview, or on the programme or film detail page. Once ticket sales have started, you can place your favourites from your personal schedule into your shopping basket. Note: marking films as a favourite does not reserve a ticket!
