Tiger Portrait # 6

Ten world premieres will be screened this year in the Tiger Competition, the main competition of IFFR, that celebrates the talent of young, promising filmmakers. The makers vie for the Tiger Award and the Special Jury Award. IFFR speaks them all, of course. Today, Luis López Carrascotalks about El año del descubrimiento: Seemingly incidental conversations in a bar in Cartagena, Spain, expose an almost forgotten piece of social history.

About El año del descubrimiento
An almost forgotten piece of social history is revived in a bar in Cartagena, Spain, through the stories of strikers who took part and discussions among young people about class consciousness, the economic crisis and the role of unions. Immersion in the present and a confrontation with past conflicts.
