RTM: Rotterdam makers in the picture

Film Still: You Can't Automate Me

Join us during the June festival for a special screening with two world premieres from RTM, IFFR's programme celebrating local Rotterdam talent.

This special kicks off with the winner of the RTM Pitch in 2020: You Can't Automate Me by Katarina Jazbec. An experimental documentary about lashers in the port of Rotterdam, the workers who secure the containers on the ships. Jazbec saw similarities with choreography in the heavy, physical work.

Afterwards, we’re screening Jan Louter's Under Tomorrow's Sky, a documentary about the Rotterdam architect Winy Maas, one of the founders of the MVRDV architectural firm. Known in Rotterdam for the Markthal and the Boijmans Van Beuningen Depot, world-famous for the Tianjin Binhai Library or The Why Factory, the think tank of TU Delft (established by Winy Maas 10 years ago), for example.

Wednesday, 2 June, KINO Rotterdam
