IFFR Young Selectors is back! A whole new team of ambassadors will guide you through this year’s edition of IFFR. From side-programming to production to marketing: these Young Selectors decide everything themselves! Who are the Selectors and what drives them? Let them introduce themselves:
Ife
As a young and curious creative, I love seizing opportunities that allow me to immerse myself into the multicultural environment of Rotterdam. Storytelling is a critical aspect of understanding our society and its diverse experiences. This is why I find great importance in creating spaces where narratives, often neglected by conventional media, can circulate. As an IFFR young selector I am excited to contribute to creating events that embody the wholesome culture of young voices in film.
João
I am a brazilian self-taught photographer and creative director, who loves anything visual and cultural. Being a Young Selector, my goal is to inspire other film lovers and offer our audience fun and immersive activities that complement the chosen film. Rotterdam really embraced me with its vibrant and multicultural scene. I am glad to be part of this community and looking forward to give something back to the city and the beautiful people that are part of it, lots of love xx.

My fondness for film started with my internship with IFFR in 2018, from there I’ve explored different corners of the industry. From production to documentary research, I’ve tried to find my own way to contribute to the vast world of film. Now I’m back at IFFR and I’m super excited to be part of the Young Selectors team of 2023. My goal is to make film accessible and inclusive for as many people as possible, as I believe that stories can help us navigate this complex, but nevertheless fascinating world.

Hello! My name is Jip, and I am very excited to be a part of the Young Selectors this year. I grew up in Rotterdam and have a strong love for the city and its cultural environment, live events, and people. Being able to contribute to IFFR is like a dream come true; through our event I would love to create an evening where different perspectives and experiences can come together to create something new and exciting with people that love storytelling and film.
