IFFR Live: Préjudice

Are the members of this well-to-do family closely united, or actually condemned to being with one another? This and other thorny questions arise when a festive home dinner takes an unexpected turn in Préjudice, a harrowing feature by Antoine Cuypers. Préjudice will have its international premiere on Saturday 30 January 20:00, simultaneously in cinemas across Europe and online via Festival Scope.

A provocative psychological family drama, in which on a beautiful summer evening the carefully cherished harmony falls apart. Cédric, usually locked up in his own world, reacts defiantly to the glad tidings of his sister’s pregnancy. Strong debut with an outstanding actors’ ensemble headed by Nathalie Baye as domineering mother.

Cuypers masterfully plays out a score whose tempo rises around family ties, their grasp, and their underlying violence.

Directly after the film, director Antoine Cuypers and renowned actress Nathalie Baye will take the stage for the interactive Twitter Q&A via #livecinema. Don’t miss the surprise performance during the Q&A.
