IFFR is proud to announce a new partnership with Festival Scope for the 2nd edition of IFFR Live. In addition to over 45 participating cinemas across Europe and the continuing partnership with Spanish VOD platform Filmin, IFFR Live now extends to international online audiences through brand new consumer oriented platform Festival Scope.
Each of the 5 IFFR Live films will be available on Festival Scope from exactly the same moment as the premiere event screenings in Rotterdam. It will also feature the live interactive Q&A sessions via Twitter using #livecinema.
The collaboration on IFFR Live aimed at a general audience marks a new direction for Festival Scope, its originality lies in its ephemeral approach: the films are available for a limited number of days and for a limited amount of audience members, just like in a real film theatre. The digital tickets are limited to 400 per film. The box office for the full lineup is already open on www.festivalscope.com. All tickets are priced at €4 and a Festival Pass (€9 for 3 films) is also available. Each purchase will allow viewers to screen the film once.
IFFR Live is designed to enhance, celebrate and extend the live festival experience of watching a film in the presence of filmmaker and cast. It presents 5 film simultaneously across Europe in cinemas, online platforms and in the Netherlands on TV Channel 999 via broadcaster KPN.
The IFFR Live selection includes Prejudice (featuring a very strong cast with Nathalie Baye, Ariane Labed, and the Belgian singer Arno), La novia (13 Goya nominations and starring the next 'chica Almodóvar', Inma Cuesta), The Garbage Helicopter ("echoes of early Jarmusch and Kaurismaki" states The Hollywood Reporter), the stylish Danish love story set within the fashion industry, The Model, and As I Open My Eyes, awarded at the Venice Film Festival and Dubai Film Festival and "by far the best fictional film about the Arab Spring" (Indiewire).
