With the Holland Film Meeting just around the corner, ten projects are announced for the second year of the Boost NL innitiative.
The BoostNL project selection this year includes the international Baby by Marcelo Caetano (Brazil - Africa Filmes), Nasir by Arun Karthick (India – Stray Factory), The Stranger by Zhengfan Yang (China – Burn The Film), and La vaca que cantó una canción sobre el futuro by Francisca Alegria (Chile - Jirafa).
Dutch project selection includes Beyond the Blue Bridge by Isabel Lamberti (IJswater Films), The Hague Hilton by Boris Paval Conen (Family Affair Films), and Life on Mars (working title) by Michiel van Erp (De Familie Film & TV).
BoostNL also features three works-in-progress: La cama by Monica Lairana (Argentina – Adriana Yurcovich a.o.), Nocturne by Viktor van der Valk (The Netherlands – Maniak Film) and Der Unschuldige by Simon Jaquemet (Switzerland – 8horses).
BoostNL is a collaborative project between IFFR / CineMart and the Netherlands Film Festival / Holland Film Meeting. The programme will present a selection of Dutch projects in development and international projects that were previously presented at CineMart, or ones that have been granted support by IFFR’s Hubert Bals Fund (HBF). The aim is to offer guidance to the selected projects as well as exposure to new potential partners. BoostNL will focus on projects inpre-production stage that are ready to be presented at a co-production market as well as projects that are almost complete and ready for presentation as works-in-progress. By uniting forces, the two co-production platforms of HFM and CineMart will create a new space in which the selected projects can get stronger film industry exposure. Furthermore, the participant project representatives will receive advice from film professionals through a series of individual meetings with special attention paid to their festival, sales and marketing strategies.
The BoostNL programme will take place in two phases starting at the Holland Film Meeting (September 24-27, 2017) with a round-up during IFFR PRO Days (26
