Mental Pictures was formed by producer Amy Lo with a story-driven focus across film and TV. Recent projects include Christina Choe's Nancy, which won the Screenwriting Award at Sundance and was produced in partnership with Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson's EON Productions, featuring Andrea Riseborough, Steve Buscemi, Ann Dowd, John Leguizamo, and J. Smith-Cameron. Other credits include Benson Lee’s hit dance film Planet B-Boy, as well as the Sony film Battle of The Year inspired by the documentary. Upcoming projects include Myna Joseph’s adaptation of Vivian Gornick’s acclaimed memoir Fierce Attachments; Untitled Christina Choe Film , starring Steven Yeun and Andrea Riseborough; and By Any Means, an original series produced with Adam McKay’s Hyperobject Industries.
Amy Lo’s global production experience spans four continents, with projects based in the UK, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. She has produced a number of films both independently and within the studio system — and nearly all directed by women and people of colour. Recent work includes Christina Choe’s Nancy; Gaby Dellal’s On A Clear Day; and Benson Lee’s films Battle of The Year and Planet B-Boy. As Head of Development for NY and London-based InFilm Productions, projects included Phyllis Nagy’s Oscar-nominated screenplay for Carol, and Rose Troche's The Safety Of Objects with Glenn Close and Kristen Stewart in her first film role. Lo was also part of the production teams for Spike Lee’s Inside Man and Steven Spielberg’s Munich. She grew up in Alaska and is a graduate of Stanford University.
