The Oscar-nominated film Les Misérables by Ladj Ly shows the explosive situation between the people and the police in the banlieues of Paris. A distant spectacle, or something just as likely to happen in Rotterdam?

Before the screening, actor Mahfoud Mokaddem performs an interactive monologue inspired by the film and his own experiences in Rotterdam. The programme is a part of the selection created by IFFR in collaboration with Movies that Matter for (V)MBO Burgerschap/Maatschappijleer classes. Afterwards, you are welcome to have a drink and reflect on the film and the monologue. IFFRxMeetup010xKCR is a collaboration between KCR, Meetup010 and IFFR.
