Exploring the (subversive) possibilities of the arthouse genre film, the opportunities and challenges in the marketplace for filmmakers, festivals, sales agents/distributors, to reconfigure the stereotypes and tropes of horror, the supernatural, westerns, sci-fi, noir, melodrama to tackle issues of class, race, gender, sexuality, politics and climate change.
