Tara Judah and Peter Walsh: Reinventing Mitchell & Kenyon – Local Films for Local People

Combined Programme

IFFR 2018

Sagar Mitchell and James Kenyon were British early film pioneers from Blackburn who, amongst other things, made a name for themselves with 'the factory-gate genre': so-called "local films for local people". Critic Tara Judah and film historian Peter Walsh will recreate and reinvent an M&K screening. Original M&K archival films will be combined with a 16mm film of the Humans of Planet IFFR, shot during the first days of the festival. And yes: there will be a projector in the room. Part of IFFR's Critics' Choice.
