Time and Place is a film about the melancholy of reconstruction. The filmmaker's mother tells about her life: how she first came to live in a poorly maintained canal house in Amsterdam 50 years ago; the rapid career of the father, an artist who was never there; of a dramatic separation; the 4 children she raised alone. But she doesn’t want her face in the film and there are only a few photos to show. However, her story is told in an unexpected and visually inventive way.
