Hipkins combines quotes from H.G. Wells's science fiction novel The Time Machine (1895) with images from Indian astronomic temples and landscapes from New Zealand. The title The Port alludes to the film itself as a vehicle for visiting, and revisiting, familiar and unfamiliar places and astronomical times.
