Andrés, José and Felipe are 18 years old and live in Iztapalapa, a forgotten corner of Mexico City dominated by the desert and emptiness. As children, the boys witnessed a drama that pursues them right up till today. But were they only witnesses or could it be that they were responsible? While everything simmers with religious excitement around the annual 'Pasión de Cristo' procession, the three friends feel bonded together and torn by memories and feelings of guilt.
Alejandro Gerber Bicecci’s (b. 1977) debut, supported by the Hubert Bals Fund, is a treat to the eye. The film takes us to desiccated and dusty deserts, looks back on the boys' turbulent childhood and breathes the ubiquitous nature of religion. Becloud: the blinding mist that prevents people from confronting themselves.
