A fresh and stylistically exciting modern tale about an open-minded career woman in today's Bangladesh. Ruba chooses not to be married but lives together with Munna, who suddenly ends up in jail. Can a single woman live alone, is she allowed to handle her life by herself and is society open enough to grant her trust and freedom? While negotiating her independence, the protagonist remembers her childhood and, in a very lucid cinematic manner, returns to the past.
Director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, who initiated the avant-garde cinema movement Chabial, proves with his third film that there is an audience for sincere fiction films with a documentary feeling that make everyday urban life attractive and exciting.
Bangla musician Tapu, member of the popular local band Yaatri, created a soundtrack full of catchy tunes and also acts as himself. The main role is convincingly performed by debuting film actress Nusrat Tisha.
