This project is a unique collaboration between the filmmaker, the writer and the musicians, each of whom inspired one another by their progressive contributions to the making of the work. The project radically changed from its original concept in the process of interdisciplinary development. The work passes through a series of focal points which, though in some ways abstract, begin to congeal into a narrative. It begins with the land, Madagascar, at night, which passes on into fire, the fire that eats the forest of Madagascar, the fire that eats everything. The next section is the passage from the country to the city and finally, in the urban world, to the spirit of resistance and protest. In the dense urban population we find the character of Z, whose teeth have been broken as a result of torture, speaking of ziz and zat but who may have the last jeu de mot.
