In Communist Romania in 1984, everyone tries to survive in their own way. A man yearns for freedom and prepares to cross the Danube. A woman takes a radical decision that will cost her her life. Using a combination of fiction and unusual archive footage, the suffocating climate of indoctrination and repression at the end of an era is convincingly portrayed.
