The hypothesis at the start of the film is: the future is dark and that is basically the best you can say about it. We find ourselves in an ideological no-man's-land in the latter days of the 1968 era. While the sombre images of the future are underlined by the camera, portraying in atmospheric black-and-white images the symbols of the transitory nature of power on a tour of Brussels, the conclusion slowly becomes unavoidable.
