A fictional memory of the author’s dreamed-of alter ego, Maria Callas, leaving her Paris apartment in 1983, followed by the shaky gaze of a camera/fan. A movie balancing between sadness and happiness, past and present, fiction and documentary and that also addresses (gender) roles in the relationship of the subject looking and the object of the gaze.
Mark THER studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. His movies, in some ways reminiscent of Fassbinder or Werner Schroeter , are characterised by an uncertain gender identity, and melancholy yet also dreamlike atmosphere and narrative ambivalence.
