Go! Go! Go!

Marie Menken: 'Go! Go! Go! is made up of sequences that are mostly filmed from a vehicle in motion. In the harbour scene, I had to wait for the moment when activities were most feverish. Sequences that can only be seen on screen for a minute sometimes took an hour to film. The sequence "power and health" was shot during a beauty contest. The subjects that dominate in the film are the different districts of New York and people who are enslaved by their professions.'
