Every Other Week

The lightness of being in summery Stockholm is only interrupted by ironic commercials, it would appear. Total freedom of self-realisation would appear to be a historic fact which is only recognised in a commercial sense. In 2005, a divorce is no longer a dramatic opening, but rather creates a new target group for chicken dinners. In the meantime, the children keep each other informed about the ins and outs of dealing with four or five guardians. Every Other Week is a comic drama about two brothers whose lives become increasingly complex. The wife of commercial film maker Jens refuses to believe that his friendship with the beautiful Johanna is purely platonic and throws him out. Jens tells everything to his brother Pontus, who is surprised that his brother is spending time with one of his own old flames. When Jens tries to convince his wife of his innocence, he finds out that she has been unfaithful to him on one previous occasion. Blinded by fury, he moves in with his brother. But life with Pontus is far from simple, and doesn't get any easier when Pontus realises that he still has feelings for Johanna, while his ex-wife still wants a child with him. Now the brothers live together and all four children come to visit them every other week. Then there are also the problems with wives, ex-wives and girlfriends that have to be solved, not to mention the pressure on their respective careers. (GT)
