The Goatman Act

This spectacular and probably very labour-intensive film mixes the unmixable: animation with documentary. Normally, documentaries are based on the strength of photo-realistic truth, while the cartoon freedom of animation is without exception to be found in the field of fiction. Not in this case. Klomp animates hard facts, draws whole newspapers and documents a story that is too incredible to have been invented. The propaganda deception of American governments and their sometimes secret services surrounding the space and nuclear programmes would appear to be primarily of historic importance. But it doesn't take much imagination to see that the mechanisms of deception are still very topical, because they are of all times. The well chosen music, very much in its time, changes nothing in that. Today's newspaper could also be drawn.
