A loosely-shot documentary portrait of a film festival in the deep south of Italy. Festival director Franco Rina loves his region, the Basilicata, so much that he has organised a traveling film festival to screen experimental short films from Holland and Italy. The screenings take place in picturesque village squares in the open-air, in front of a small audience of Italian villagers. Gigi, the master-chef in Matera, cooks a 'pasta alla Mel Gibson' for the festival guests. In the special town of Matera, many films have been shot, including Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ.
