Unconventional documentary about a day in the life of miners in a German coal mine. Rickels followed the men down to 1200 metres with a Bolex clockwork camera, because normal equipment was banned for fear of explosions. The necessary short shots, the dark, grainy recordings and the special soundtrack, forged into music, have already gained this graduation production three awards.
