An 80-year-old man has lost the light in his eyes. He lives in a small apartment with a white cat. The man wants to do something useful and makes knotted shopping nets. The cat keeps messing things up; every day there is a continual battle between the two of them. But the cat is the man's only friend as well as being an enemy. The man listens through the window to the sounds of the Moscow streets. He also goes outside and tries to give people his bags, free of charge. Nobody wants them, they all have plastic bags.
