Alice Springs is one of the most isolated towns in Australia. In 1966, a decision was made to build Pine Gap, a facility for the Joint Defence Space Research, an American Australian co operative venture. This base for world satellite technology, is one of the largest air traffic control centres in the world, only 17 kilometres outside Alice Springs. The maker wants to provide an impression of the absurd, rather spooky presence of this technological military base.
