Jean-Luc Moulène shows photos from the series Documents: Produits de Palestine, Documents: Objets de grève and Documents. With the products that he has selected with care and photographed against a monochrome background, Moulène infiltrates and `dirties' dominant advertising and media strategies. Slight exaggeration in the aesthetics and lighting exposes the random nature of advertising rhetoric: from the product as subject to propaganda for all kinds of things. Moulène's photographs are not only to be found in exhibition spaces, but also on billboards or in magazines between advertising campaigns. In these surroundings, he tries to emphasise the dulling of photography. In his hands, both photography and products seem to have become pointless and redundant. On show in Witte de With.
