Homemade Sake

A very personal portrait of the film maker's father. The father is a very taciturn man. The mother has left home, but still lives in the same building. The father is a poor painter and alcoholic. With much patience and passion, he makes his own sake. With equal patience and the same passion, the son films his father's activities in an attempt to break through the silent distance between them. The result is great drunkenness and a beautiful home-made film.
