Harry and Mitch are two mates who go off to fight in Papua New Guinea during World War II. Harry is a Koorie and Mitch is a nonindigenous Australian. Harry's War is a story about mateship transcending race, cultural differences and societal barriers in a time when war drives men to the brink and the journey becomes more important that the journey's end. It is also a tale about racism and the sacrifices made by indigenous service men and women who went to war for Australia at time when they were clearly regarded as secondclass citizens.
