While shooting a fourminute video for Fatlip (former member of the hiphop group The Pharcyde) Spike Jonze collected more than eleven hours of material. A pity, because the images in which Fatlip plays all kinds of pitiful types and experiences the strangest things, were too good to throw away. So they decided to make a short film of them. In the film, Fatlip and Jonze playfully throw around the rapper's image. From a relationship with a white girl to rumours about crack addiction: everything is tackled. The film was shot with a very small crew: Fatlip acted, Jonze filmed.
