SangWoo, a boy who tries to record rare and endangered sounds from nature, walks through the bamboo forest on a winter's day to record the wind. There he meets EungSu, a radio DJ who is recording sounds for her radio programme. Together, they record the sound of the temple bell. At night, when soft warm snowflakes fall, their love blossoms. Seasons later, they are on the beach to record the sound of the surf. Their relationship is no longer so close as in that first spring. SangWoo and EungSu have a different view of love and start to grow apart. You can record a sound hanging in the air, but can you capture love for ever? Just as his grandma only remembers things from the spring of her life, SangWoo chooses only to remember things from the spring days of his love for EungSu.As was clear from his first film, Christmas in August, Hur JinHo has a great talent for describing delicate, unspoken feelings and he has the modest, sensitive film style necessary. With the character of SangWoo, the soundman who tries to capture the most elusive sounds, Hur holds a mirror up to himself as filmmaker, he tries to capture the often just as elusive subtleties of love.
