Eisenstein knew better than anyone else how to communicate his political message to audiences using the form in which he wrapped it. His style of editing was in itself a cinematographic revolution. He wanted to mobilise the masses in the battle of workers against authority. Strike is about fabric workers who go on strike when one of them commits suicide after falsely being accused of theft. The French musician and sound artist Pierre Jodlowski makes optimal use of the cinema space by positioning 16 loudspeakers. Somewhere in the space, the fairly minimal, electro-acoustic sounds have their origin and then move on their way. In Jodlowski's score, the sounds of a factory resonate and are then amplified by the space of the cinema.
