A shortened improvised version of what I hope will be quite another one - agreat sprawling 12 hour portrait of Rome.á This one was done for Italian TV, an obscure station viewed by (n)one, cynically sort of "for the (modest)money." I used material I had shot for myself, and did a fast edit, experimenting to see what worked and didn't, mindful for the future version. I found it an unusual sensation to approach my own work with such cyncism, and it soured the process for me. I consider the result as what I might expect: amixed bag some of which I like, and some of which I don't. For me the tonehere smacks of didacticism, which will have to go later on.
