'Welcome to a world of fractured narratives, twisted trajectories, visual hooks and the split-second moment of creative impact.' Onedotzero investigates new and hybrid forms of moving images and has since 1996 functioned as a catalyst for a wide spectrum of innovative digital films. This programme shows a selection of work by pioneering, non-traditional British film-makers, such as graphic designers and illustrators. Among the work shown are form experiments such as Two Squares, in which Dylan Kendle exploits the geometrical potential of a square as widely as possible. Or the visual investigation of a complex architectural environment by Alex Rutterford. But also short reflections such as Jake Knight's film about the cold and impersonal life of a lonely Japanese employee and the very aesthetic adaptation of the news with a meditation on recent history in Crooked. Finally we should mention the media hybrids. Jeremy Hollister's polished commercial, for instance, in which live action and graphic design are mixed almost seamlessly. And Jubilee Line by the renowned animator Tim Hope, who embroiders forth on his existing concept in a homage to recent events in London.
