Firestation documents the transformation of a derelict fire station into a studio and living space for artists. The opening of the restored building is celebrated with performances and installations made by the new inhabitants, helping the building come back to life dramatically. This film poem confronts the present with the past by also showing us the history of the building with archive photos and interviews. William Raban (Fakenham, England) was co-founder of the avant-garde collective the London Filmmakers Co-op.
