This 'sentimental comedy' is set on a rainy afternoon in front of the wardrobe. Vera has the chance of her life: a date with a man who could solve all her sentimental and financial problems in one fell swoop. Vera has been trying for years to become an important artist, but she has gradually become tired of her poverty-stricken life and the endless jobs that don't help her get on. She has been living in Rome for seven years in a tiny room near the Colosseum. The city is a jungle of halfwits, liars and 'artists', who sit in the bar from early afternoon and in the evenings go to all the gallery parties. Vera tries in every possible way to get her art seen. She has even started a web site, on which she presents her personal catalogue, but she is still waiting for that one big order that will change her life. So this evening is the chance of her life. When Vera runs through her wardrobe, looking for the most charming creation, her old dresses evoke memories of periods from her former life. She makes an inspiring journey through the past. Surprised by the mosaic of images that arise in her, she suddenly realise that she is losing herself in a world where critics and their assistants are more important than the artists themselves. A world that is dominated by established artists who exploit young talent. Will Vera make it to her date?
