The intimate comedy Ene bene (Czech for 'Eeny meany miny mo'), the feature début by documentary-maker Allis Nellis, is set against the backdrop of local election fever in a small Czech town. The Prague student Jana allows her mother to persuade her to join the election committee for two days. For Jana it is a good excuse to turn her back on life in Prague and her complex private situation for a while. The others also have good reasons for joining: a welcome adventure, a personal management training, or simply too much time on their hands. The elections are no disappointment in personal terms. For two days and two nights, the candidates get to know each other and themselves as never before. They turn it into a big party, with plenty of drinks, dance and personal outpourings. In the face of these developments we see the relationship between the Zach couple, the parents of Jana. As a result of her husband's recent heart attack, Jana's mother has resolved to do everything to prevent him getting angry. But that is far from easy with the elections just round the corner. In the meantime, relationships within the committee also get increasingly complex.
