Documentary about the punk-rock band Fugazi that Jem Cohen made in close co-operation with the members of the band. Fugazi is a wayward group that publishes its own music and has outspoken political views. Cohen felt akin to the ideas and the band's way of working and wanted to express that in the form of his film and in its production. He sought a form that is comparable with the radicalness of Fugazi's music and wanted his film document to do justice to all the aspects of the band. Over a period of five years he collected and filmed material that covers the ten-year history of the group. The film of course includes footage of unruly performances, but Cohen shows more, both front and back stage.
