is the touching and comic tale of the first love between two girls in their last year at school. Randy Dean, a rebellious tomboy, lives with her lesbian aunt and the latter's lover in a working-class area. She falls in love with Evie Roy, a rich and attractive coloured girl and one of the most popular and successful students at the school. They first meet when Evie drives into the service station where Randy has a dreadfully boring part-time job. Intrigued and charmed by each other, they meet again at school and start an unlikely romance that provides plenty of comic disaster culminating in a grubby motel, where family and friends converge to prevent the young couple eloping together.
