Piet le Blanc (73) has lived for the last fifteen years on the streets and in the bars of the centre of Rotterdam and still does. He tries to keep his head above water by playing sax or violin. He is often welcome, getting a drink and a cigar, but sometimes he is mocked and sent out to find his way swearing and laughing. He used to play in various orchestras, big and small. Bebop, funk, blues and sentimental songs, Piet knows them all. In the last year, he has gained the recognition he deserves. A CD is recorded and a gala evening organised for him in Rotterdam's Luxor theatre. An evening he'll never forget, and Piet goes home exhausted. Only after a few days of quiet does he show his face again in Rotterdam's night-life.
