Parable in which dogs are the actors and in a film for adults that is surprising and original. Another important rôle is played by the sound. Alongside the noise of modern times there is also the modern music of Sofia Goubaidoulina, a composer who is also well known in the West. Fragments of classical music are also used. The night in a dilapidated modern city is reserved for dog-catchers. A clever sheepdog however puts on a show to humour the catchers and escapes the fate awaiting dozens of its fellows tonight. The sheepdog pays a visit to the dog pound looking for its mate, a huge black & white Great Dane. The heroic sheepdog helps the Great Dane escape and together they enjoy their freedom in the fresh snow. They scrounge dinner from rubbish bins.
