L'Amico Immaginario

Very autobiographical feature about the alter ego of the film-maker (born in 1941), fifty-year-old Dino (played by Victor Cavallo). A film about his relationships with various women in his life, about his young son and about his intellectual handiwork, in which nothing is wasted; everything is conserved and transformed - be they old shoes or old loves - in a continual meditation on his own impotence. Dino had once had a help in the form of his old schoolfriend and priest Daniele. But Daniele is dead. Yet Dino continues to feel his presence. Daniele is now his imaginary friend, as real as an imaginary person can be, as tangible as in a dream. is a story about people who do not manage to find their own niche.
