Only a week after he started shooting, the young Chinese film-maker Zhang Yuan was forced by the authorities to stop work on his new feature Chicken Feathers on the Ground. Just because Zhang had directed an independently-produced film, Beijing Bastards, and the film had been screened at several international festivals (including this one).In this documentary, various people talk abut the incident, among them pop star Cui Jian (leading man in Beijing Bastards), documentary-maker Wu Wenguang and several members of the crew of Beijing Bastards and Chicken Feathers: Zhang Yuan, the writers Liu Zhenyun and Tang Danian, cameraman Zhang Jian and producer Song Jing.
