The style and humour of Achternbusch are far from mundane and have outspoken opponents as well as fans. For instance, received one of the bluntest and most cantankerous reviews which have ever appeared in Variety. Hubert Bals was a true fan and Achterbusch has often been a guest in Rotterdam.
