Love in the Fridge, shot in Egypt, is debut film by the Sudanese director Said Hamed. A black comedy about a man without a wife, without work and who can't find a house. He expects that society will only improve after the year 2000, he decides to have himself frozen until that time. But all kinds of strange things happen in the freezer. He falls for a frozen chicken with which he does a dance number and that's only for starters. The film comments on the bad social conditions in Egypt, a comment apparently packaged in images as we know them from traditional Egyptian film. In the case of Hamed however, these images take on black and absurd forms.
